Emotions Revealed,Understanding Faces & feelings by Paul ekman
I am interested in emotions feelings and understanding them,but do I stand under them,or do they stand under me ?
This seems to be the running theme of this book. I am not finished reading it yet,but that is the synopsis.
Not to slate the guy,he seems very knowledgable and well versed on Psychology. But at his own admission we cannot know what someone is thinking merely by observing their emotions or even by what they say.
I am aware of how it appears to those who like myself find it hard to understand the complexity that is being human.
I do however have first hand knowledge of how people can manipulate you by words thoughts and actions.
First off,we notice that Dr Ekman has studied people from around the planet,or we are told this.
Then we see his daughter in some photos that have been altered using photoshop or some other manipulative software.
So,that leads me to think,am I being manipulated here into believing this chaps words.Call me suspicious if you like but it could be perceived that way if like me your wary of people and what they tell you.
I think emotions are a very complex part of us and my critical thinking skills are not as critical or as skilfull as I would like to believe. However,onwards I go into another night of worrying over stuff that may never happen and that which is.
